On September 17-19, John shoots three steady rounds of 71, 72, 72 to finish in a tie for second in the 2013 Philadelphia PGA Section Championship. John had a birdie putt on the 18th hole to tie that burnt the edge, but eventually fell just two shots short of forcing a playoff. John’s solid play earned him his fourth straight birth into the PGA Professional National Championship. John’s co-worker, PGA Professional Pat Clark from Aronimink Golf Club, also qualified for next year’s PNC. Pat, age 28, makes this his third appearance at the event. To our knowledge, John & Pat will be the only professionals from the same club in the field. Next year’s event will take place at The Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach, SC. Only 312 of 26,000 PGA Pros qualify for the tournament. The top 20 finishers will earn a spot in the PGA Championship next August.
